“The whole idea is to make it a retail approach so that you know up front exactly what the required cost will be,” Francine Botek, the network’s vice president for finances, told The Express-Times.
The online tool, called PriceChecker, provides patient costs for common procedures such as colonoscopy and lumpectomy, as well as arthroscopic surgeries.
The online tool is available for Pennsylvania patients. Although anyone can access the information, the prices do not apply to those on Medicare or Medicaid.
