St. Joseph’s/Candler expenses rise, but $26.4M operating income above budget

Savannah, Ga.-based St. Joseph’s/Candler posted an above-budget operating income for the nine months ending March 31 even as expenses in the period were higher.

While the operating income budget was set at $23.1 million, the actual income figure totaled $26.4 million. That was as expenses came in at $625.6 million for the nine months, 3.1 percent above budget.

Overall net income for the three-hospital system came in at $15.9 million compared with $73.1 million for the same period in fiscal year 2022.
