The hospital was put on “immediate jeopardy” status following a visit by the state department of health, which reviewed St. Cloud’s policies and procedures, some of which were related to a shooting that took place at the hospital last month. CMS warned the hospital that it would be terminated from the Medicare program effective Nov. 19 unless the hospital corrected safety problems identified by the department of health.
The hospital submitted an action plan to address the issues, and the Minnesota Department of Health accepted the plan and moved the hospital to “condition-level noncompliance” status on Friday, according to the report.
