The hospital cut about 60 staff jobs and three senior management positions and reduced hours of 30 employees in May. It has also lowered management pay, renegotiated contracts with vendors, cutting a total of more than $5 million from annual expenses.

The 85-bed Bennington, Vt., hospital is not planning to return any of its capital improvement projects to active status in the immediate future.
