Sacred Heart Hospital-Emerald Coast to kick off $30M expansion

Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast, located in Miramar Beach, Fla., will begin its major facility expansion project in March, according to a local news report.

The community hospital announced the expansion plan, estimated to cost between $27 million and $30 million, last June. The project is expected to take roughly two years to complete

The expansion will increase the capacity of the hospital's inpatient, maternity, emergency and pediatric services by adding two intensive care rooms, 14 general inpatient rooms, five labor and delivery rooms, 12 postpartum rooms, three triage rooms, an eight-bed observation unit, a pediatric-friendly extended-hours clinic and shell space for future growth on the hospital's second floor.

The expansion will also include a new pediatric ambulance and transport bay to house the emergency vehicle.

Last year, Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast was ranked among Becker's Hospital Review's lists for 100 Great Community Hospitals and 100 Best Hospitals for Patient Engagement.
