The upgrade is a result of S&P’s upgraded criteria for nonprofit acute care facilities published on March 19, 2018.
Fitch also cited SJMC’s favorable service area and beneficial affiliations with other local medical facilitates as reasons for the upgrade.
The outlook is stable.
