S&P revises Advocate Health Care’s outlook to negative

S&P Global Ratings affirmed its “AA+” long term rating on Downers Grove, Ill.-based Advocate Health Care Network’s bonds.

Concurrently, S&P revised AHCN’s outlook to negative from stable.

The negative outlook reflects S&P’s expectation that AHCN’s pending merger with Milwaukee-based Aurora Healthcare will increase debt burden and weaken balance sheet metrics.
