S&P downgrades Northern Arizona Healthcare System’s rating from ‘AA’ to ‘AA-‘

S&P Global Ratings lowered its long-term rating for Flagstaff-based Northern Arizona Healthcare System from “AA” to “AA-.”

The lowered rating reflects S&P’s application of the “U.S. and Canadian Not-For-Profit Acute Care Health Organizations” criteria. The system has a strong enterprise profile characterized by a dominant market share at both of its acute care hospitals.

The rating outlook is stable.
