The Ted and MargaretJorgensenCancerCenter was set to open Jan. 5, but that opening date has been pushed back several weeks. Hospital officials have yet to announce a new date. The project remains in phase one of the $89 million patient tower construction.

“We are working hard to make the cancer center the best experience it can be for our patients,” said RustMedicalCenter administrator Angela Ward. “While we put the finishing touches on the cancer center, Presbyterian medical oncology patients will continue to use the services available at our High Resort clinic in Rio Rancho.”

The new center will provide approximately 600 patients with comprehensive oncology care, from chemotherapy to supportive care services, including a CancerResourceCenter.
