Rowan Medicine joins value-based transformation initiative

Rowan Medicine, the faculty practice plan of Glassboro, N.J.-based Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine, has partnered with the New Jersey Innovation Institute to work on a federally funded practice transformation project, reports Philadelphia Business Journal.

The Transforming Clinical Practice Initiative researches best practices to help physician practices make the move from fee-for-service to value-based care models. New Jersey Innovation Institute is among 39 healthcare collaborative networks selected by the federal government to participate in the initiative.

NJII and Rowan will receive up to $49.6 million to improve quality and efficiency of clinical services and health metrics while reducing costs.

Rowan is comprised of more than 150 physicians.
