Revenue cycle management company Knowtion Health has named Steven Huddleston CEO.

Mr. Huddleston brings more than 25 years of experience in healthcare finance, strategy and revenue cycle leadership, according to an Oct. 6 company news release. He spent more than a decade in finance and operations leadership at Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare, where he oversaw billing and collections for its hospitals and helped launch the system’s revenue cycle shared services organization.

Most recently, Mr. Huddleston served as CEO of RCM company Ventra Health, according to the release. He also helped create nThrive and led its growth as president and chief client officer before serving as CEO of Pelitas.

“I’ve sat on the other side of this work, inside a health system,” Mr. Huddleston said in the release. “I know the revenue that’s hardest to collect often makes the biggest difference to a hospital’s margin and to its ability to care for patients.”

Knowtion works in clinical and administrative denials, independent dispute resolution under the No Surprises Act and coordination of benefits. The company serves more than 70 health systems and over 660 hospitals across the U.S.

Mr. Huddleston’s appointment comes after Knowtion added three executives to its leadership team in September. The company named John Holyoak as chief solution officer, Mikky Franklin as chief delivery officer and Sarah Sweeney as senior vice president of marketing and communications. The company also recently launched an AI collaboration with Ghamut Corp. and opened a new corporate headquarters and innovation center in Plano, Texas.
