Winston-Salem, N.C.-based Novant Health is eliminating 31 revenue cycle positions to prevent redundancy, a health system spokesperson confirmed to Becker’s July 22.
The spokesperson said Novant is evaluating its organizational structure and staffing needs as the system focuses on expanding patient access, improving affordability, advancing innovation and providing remarkable patient care.
“As part of that ongoing work, and as we continue to modernize our revenue cycle operations, certain revenue cycle positions are being eliminated to prevent redundancy,” the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said that while the changes are necessary to ensure the long-term sustainability of the system, “we recognize the impact on those affected and are committed to providing transition support. We are grateful for their contributions to Novant Health and our patients.”
Novant Health employs more than 43,000 people with more than 900 locations in North Carolina and South Carolina, including 21 hospitals, according to its website.
