Ensemble Health Partners has launched Office of the CFO, a strategic finance advisory practice that embeds senior healthcare finance executives directly into its revenue cycle managed services partnerships to provide forward-looking financial analysis and C-suite decision support.
Rather than adding a separate consulting layer, Ensemble is building the Office of the CFO into its standard end-to-end partnership model at no incremental cost to clients, according to a June 23 news release from the RCM company.
The practice will deliver variance analysis across volume, payer mix and acuity, forward-looking identification of financial risks and executive narratives that connect revenue cycle performance to enterprise financial outcomes.
The Office of the CFO is being led by Matthew Ennen, senior vice president of finance at Ensemble, according to the release. He has more than 20 years of healthcare and consumer finance experience, including senior finance roles at Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare and Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare. The team includes five additional former health system CFOs and finance leaders and averages 19 years of healthcare finance leadership experience.
Ensemble said its model is “built on the conviction that data and AI are most powerful when paired with experienced operators who can contextualize the numbers for each client’s unique environment.”
“There’s no shortage of tools that can generate a chart or flag an outlier,” Mr. Ennen said in the release. “What’s harder to replicate is the judgment that comes from years of sitting across the table from a board, explaining why revenue moved and what the organization should do next. Our team combines that lived experience with Ensemble’s data infrastructure and predictive capabilities so we’re not just handing clients a dashboard.”
