Ithaca, N.Y.-based Databound Healthcare Solutions’ claim recovery service helps 33 Indian Health Services affiliated hospitals find additional insurance payers and locate unclaimed revenues.

reCover searches a vast database of hospital-patient encounters to find new or previously unknown eligibility information from private payers. The software provides hospital billing staff with more accurate insurance information to update their system for re-billing and ensure future charges are correctly billed the first time.

“At Databound, we recognize the unique challenges that IHS hospitals face in recovering unclaimed revenues,” said Databound Healthcare Solutions vice president Eric de Jager. “Our reCover solution enables these hospitals to recover unclaimed revenue that can be used to reduce dependency on IHS funding and in some cases provide specialist care to more patients.”

reCover helped one IHS hospital receive nearly $13 million in additional private-payer payments last year, according to a press release.
