RCM tip of the day: Invest in a shared data platform

When it comes to improving revenue cycle management performance, there is ample room for collaboration between providers and payers, according to Bruce Carver, associate vice president of payer services at MedeAnalytics.

Mr. Carver shared the following tip with Becker’s Hospital Review: “The key to reducing unnecessary medical costs and adverse outcomes lies in understanding how to best manage your patient population. Payers and providers should invest in a shared platform where the input of clinical and claims data can be leveraged to identify gaps in care and cost-saving opportunities. Cost efficiencies identified through better collaboration should yield better results in value-based contracting initiatives.”
