The phrase “garbage in, garbage out” is known in the data mining field as a hazard to avoid. In the revenue cycle, this translates to the need for quality assurance at the beginning of the claims process. A “gatekeeper” approach allows us to act as a steward for clean data coming into the system, and helps us realize better results and improved efficiency.
