R1 RCM has launched a new tool designed to automate and streamline the prior authorization process at scale.
The tool, called R1 Prior Authorization, manages the full authorization lifecycle through a three-step process: determination, submission and completion, according to a Jan. 16 news release from the revenue cycle management company.
The tool intelligently identifies when an authorization is required, submits complete requests with the right documentation and proactively tracks decisions to ensure the authorization decision is reflected in the EHR, according to the release. R1 Prior Authorization also provides expert oversight where needed.
“With the growing need for real-time payer decisions, the burden of prior authorization has become a strategic focus for providers, payers and policymakers — fueling demand for solutions that automate and streamline workflows,” R1 RCM Chief Product Officer Steve Albert said in the release.
