Private equity pushes into healthcare: 9 latest deals

There were more than 700 private equity deals in the healthcare industry in 2018, and the healthcare sector continues to draw private equity investors.

Here are nine private equity deals announced in the past month:

1. Cressey & Company invested in HHAeXchange, a New York City-based provider of home care management software.

2. Health & Safety Institute, which is backed by Riverside Company, acquired EMS Safety Services, a Eugene, Ore.-based provider of First Aid and CPR training.

3. Healthgrades, a portfolio company of Vestar Capital Partners, acquired Influence Health, a Birmingham, Ala.-based developer of customer relationship management software for hospitals.

4. IZI Medical Products, an Owings Mills, Md.-based interventional radiology medical device company and portfolio company of Shore Capital Partners, acquired select soft tissue biopsy and breast localization needle assets from Cook Medical.

5. Simplura Health Group, a Lynbrook, N.Y.-based residential care provider and portfolio company of One Equity Partners, acquired Personal In-Home Services, a Wheeling, W.Va.-based provider of personal assistance services for the elderly.

6. Acuity Eyecare Group, a Dallas-based portfolio company of Riata Capital Group, acquired regional eye care groups from Colorado Springs, Colo.-based ABBA Eye Care.

7. Definitive Healthcare, a Framingham, Mass.-based provider of data, intelligence and analytics on the healthcare provider market backed by Spectrum Equity, acquired the data services business and assets of HIMSS Analytics.

8. Pritzker Private Capital acquired KabaFusion, a Cerritos, Calif.-based provider of acute and specialty home fusion services.

9. Morgan Stanley Capital Partners invested in Clarity Software Solutions, a Madison, Conn.-based provider of member communications solutions for health insurers, third-party administrators and dental insurance companies.
