Premier’s Contigo Health to shutter, lay off 175

Contigo Health, a company that connects health systems with large, national employers and health plans, is shutting down and laying off 175 employees, according to an Oct. 27 Ohio state WARN notice

Premier, a Charlotte, N.C.-based healthcare data, supply chain and consulting company, launched Contigo Health in November 2019 to help fill hospital, payer and employer relationship gaps. 

The news comes after Patient Square Capital finalized a $2.6 billion acquisition of Premier Nov. 25, which took the company private and restructured leadership.

Contigo Health will be closing its Hudson, Ohio, facility Dec. 31, with “the entire Contigo business” winding down, the notice said. While the Ohio facility housed a small number of employees, the majority of the company’s affected staff are remote, a spokesperson for Premier told Becker’s

Among the affected Contigo Health positions are group vice president, chief commercial officer, senior director of operations, senior director of IT, director of care management, senior manager of transformation and accounting analyst. 

Affected employees will be eligible for “career coaching, interview advice and practice, negotiation skills training, professional branding, resume development and the provision of job search resources,” the release said.
