In the month of December only, the health system reported a net operating income of $176,881 in a Jan. 30 filing. That compared with a six-month $2.7 million loss from July to December.
Losses on investments dragged the December performance down, although positive six-month investment figures helped mitigate operating losses with overall income totaling a $911,863 loss.
The health system operates its flagship Peterson Medical Center, a 124-bed unit, as well as several other facilities, employing over 1,000 people in total.
In June last year, Peterson’s CFO, Lisa Medovich, said the system was looking at providing better affordable housing options for its staff.
