Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Health System has signed a definitive agreement to merge with Bloomsburg (Pa.) Health System, according to a Daily Item report.
Upon regulatory approval, Bloomsburg’s approximately 800 employees will keep their jobs as the system merges into Geisinger. Eight Geisinger physicians already have full privileges at Bloomsburg Hospital, and 19 others are on consulting or courtesy staffs, according to the report.
Bloomsburg includes Bloomsburg Hospital, Bloomsburg Health Care Center, Columbia Montour Home Health and Hospice and Bloomsburg Physicians Services.
