Vancouver, Wash.-based PeaceHealth restructured its PeaceHealth Medical Group on Sept. 10, which resulted in 18 layoffs, a spokesperson for the health system said in a statement shared with Becker’s.
“The roles were largely system-based, leadership roles within PeaceHealth Medical Group,” the statement said.
The restructuring came after “considerable thought and careful discernment,” and aimed to ensure PeaceHealth’s viability in the future.
“We greatly appreciate all the compassionate care and dedication to our Mission by our PHMG physicians and caregivers,” the statement said. “Impacted caregivers will have the opportunity to apply for other positions within our organization.”
Comprehensive transitional support will also be offered to the impacted employees.
In late May, PeaceHealth shared plans to reduce its workforce by 1% after reviewing the financial and healthcare markets. The health system also shared plans to implement a hiring freeze for the rest of 2025 across all roles except clinical, patient-facing or needed for “effective operations.”
