Partners HealthCare Narrows Losses in 3Q

Partners HealthCare has narrowed its losses for third-quarter 2009 but still reported an $18 million deficit for the first nine months of the year, according to a report in the Boston Globe.

For the first nine months of 2008, Partners gained $227 million. Operating income for the first nine months of this year was $129 million, but this was offset by losses, predominately caused by investment declines, of $147 million, according to the report.
