Peoria, Ill.-based OSF HealthCare’s certificate of need application has received approval from the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board to consolidate Ottawa, Ill.-based OSF Saint Elizabeth Medical Center’s inpatient obstetrics and intensive care unit services with those at OSF Saint Elizabeth – Peru.
The consolidation plan will centralize inpatient OB-GYN and ICU services to offer enhanced care to patients closer to home, according to a Nov. 18 news release shared with Becker’s.
OSF will also expand mobile, telehealth and virtual services to bring care to vulnerable and underserved patients.
“This regional approach is about long-term sustainability, quality, and access,” Bob Sehring, CEO of OSF HealthCare, said in the release. “It allows our teams to work collaboratively across locations, supporting better outcomes, stronger recruitment and retention of specialists, and the stability our communities deserve.”
