The health system’s CEO, Kevin Holland, said the number of vice president and chief positions went from 22 to eight, and the positions he kept were CEO, COO, CFO, chief human resources officer, CMO, administrators for the Ocean Springs and Singing River hospitals and a CNO, according to the report.
“There are a total of seven fewer executive-level positions today than there were before Kevin became CEO,” System spokesman Richard Lucas said in the report. “In addition, eight traditional hospital positions were retitled from ‘VP’ to ‘director.'”
Changes to other mid-level manager positions also played a role in the $5.2 million reduction in salary expense in fiscal 2014, he said in the report.
