The tax package will raise taxes on hospitals’ net patient revenue by 0.7 percent and impose a 1.5 percent tax on insurance premiums, according to the report.

The approved tax package will help cut Oregon’s upcoming $1.4 billion budget shortfall by a third.

The bill will head to Gov. Kate Brown for a final signature.
