Warren, Ohio-based Insight Hospital and Medical Center Trumbull is undergoing a “strategic realignment” to strengthen operations that will affect “a significant amount of positions” at the hospital.
The affected positions at the hospital include a mix of full-time, part-time and furloughed roles, a spokesperson for Flint, Mich.-based Insight Health System said in a statement shared with Becker’s.
“This adjustment aligns our staffing model with the hospital’s evolving focus while maintaining the highest level of patient care,” the statement said.
Insight took over the hospital Warren-based Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital from Dallas-based Steward Health Care in November 2024 after Steward sought Chapter 11 protection May 6, 2024.
In mid-March 2025, Insight Hospital and Medical Center Trumbull stopped admitting nonemergent patients after Steward received bankruptcy court approval to sell certain management assets and functions to Golden Sun TSA Services, an affiliate of Brentwood, Tenn.-based Quorum Health. The approval affected 25 of Steward’s former hospitals, including Insight Hospital.
Insight Hospital’s emergency department is open, along with outpatient services like surgery, cath lab, imaging, rehabilitation and radiology.
“Inpatient care is also available for select services, including behavioral health, while we optimize our resources to better align with the changing healthcare landscape,” the statement said. “Both outpatient locations in Austintown (Ohio) and Cortland (Ohio) continue to provide all outpatient services and Insight Rehabilitation Hospital Hillside continues to offer both inpatient and outpatient services at the main location as well as outpatient locations in Austintown and Cortland.”
