Ohio health system reveals patient payment system upgrade

Patients receiving care at Chillicothe, Ohio-based Adena Health System will see a new system to pay their bills, according to a Chillicothe Gazette report.

Adena is allowing patients to pay medical expenses for contracted physician services through its updated web page in addition to hospital system charges, according to the report. The web page asks patients to choose the statement image that reflects the one they got. Choices include Adena Medical Group as well as contracted providers and services.

"By creating a single place for our patients that links them to all of the providers and groups that deliver services at Adena, we hope to make the bill paying experience one that is less confusing and easier to navigate," said Adena CFO Lisa Carlson told the Chillicothe Gazette. "The improvement of our payment page is just one part of our long-term project to significantly improve the processes and technology we are using for patient billing."
