The application, called Central Learning, will help healthcare organizations assess coders’ knowledge from within Nuance’s audit and education programs, according to a news release.

“Coding accuracy in ICD-10 remains a difficult metric to evaluate and quantify for most organizations, even after 18 months under the new coding nomenclature,” Aviance Founder and CEO Manny Peña said in the release. “By proactively assessing coder knowledge and providing code rationale, facilities quickly identify recurring mistakes and prevent coding errors from multiplying over time.”
