NIH awards Maine Medical Center $20M research grant

Portland-based Maine Medical Center and its partners, Burlington-based University of Vermont and University of Southern Maine in Portland, received $20 million in research funding from the National Institutes of Health to establish a research network to improve human health, according to BioSpectrum.

The $20 million, five-year grant will advance collaboration in biomedical research to improve human health through establishing the Northern New England Clinical and Translational Research Network.

The grant will allow researchers across the country to implement and develop treatments for chronic diseases and define methods of health prevention in rural environments.
