So said the Franklin, Tenn.-based system’s CFO, Kevin Hammons, on a call Aug. 3 to discuss CHS quarterly results.
CHS, which reported a net loss of $38 million for the quarter, is launching the cost-saving and revenue-producing initiative as it continues to fight back to profitability and pay off debt.
Areas targeted specifically will include greater implementation of electronic records management, relying more on Oracle/Cerner integration, for example, Mr. Hammons said. Supply chain management and “human capital” will also be top of mind.
Project Empower is a further development on the system’s strategic goal-setting program which began in earnest in the fourth quarter of 2019, he added.
“Significant cost savings and other financial benefits,” will eventually result, Mr. Hammons said.
