The expansion will demolish two buildings — a parking garage and medical office building — and will add a 10-story hospital tower to house the new emergency department, operating rooms and hundreds of private patient rooms. The total expansion will add 475,000 square feet to the facility.

The expansion will create new positions and will be funded by donations and financing, Joshua Strugatz, chief campus transformation officer at White Plains Hospital, told Lohud.

The building is expected to open in 2028.
