UPMC Now In-Network for Aetna Medicare Advantage Plans

University of Pittsburgh Medical Center inked a deal with Hartford., Conn-based health insurer Aetna to join its Medicare Advantage network.

The agreement, which took effect Jan. 1, allows Aetna’s Medicare Advantage beneficiaries to receive in-network rates for covered services at any of UPMC’s 20 hospitals and 400 physician offices.

Details of the agreement were not disclosed. UPMC had previously joined Aetna’s commercial network in 2011.
