Jersey City, N.J.-based Hudson Regional Health has partnered with Alliance Community Healthcare, a federally qualified health center, prior to ending emergency department services March 14 at its shuttered Jersey City, N.J.-based Heights University Hospital.
Hudson Regional closed Heights University Hospital in mid-November 2025, but kept its 24/7 ED open. The health system then shared plans to close the ED in late February.
ACHI will provide a range of healthcare services to the Jersey City Heights region under the partnership with Hudson Regional. It will run out of Hudson Regional’s Heights Medical Office Building to expand primary and preventative care, according to a March 12 news release shared with Becker’s.
A number of Hudson Regional residents and obstetrics fellows, as well as two neighborhood health physicians, have joined ACHI.
Hudson Regional will continue offering multiple healthcare services at its Heights medical office, and an ambulance will be outside the ED for two weeks once it closes to transport patients to other care facilities. The system will also offer multiple medical services from its HRH Foundation mobile unit in partnership with multiple Jersey City community groups.
