New Hampshire hospital will use $19.4M loan to restructure debt

Valley Regional Hospital, a 25-bed facility in Claremont, N.H., received a $19.4 million loan approved by the federal government, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader.

The loan was approved by the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development.

According to the report, VRH will use the money for debt restructuring.

Hospital President and CEO Peter Wright said in the report the funds "will save us $700,000 a year in interest payments. It's something that a local bank could never do. It's just not possible. And it's only through programs like this that we are able to save that money. That allows us to turn around and start investing it." He added the funds also allow VRH to further consider development of a residential drug treatment center.
