The University of California Davis Medical Center witnessed a 70 percent increase in profit in the fiscal year ended June 30, 2011, even though admissions and outpatient visits were down, according to a Sacramento Business Journal report.
UC Davis Medical Center reported net income of $117.6 million, up from $69 million last year, and the large jump was due to a better payor mix among government programs and commercial payors, according to the report.
