The National Billing Center provides automated clinical reimbursement and speech-based transcription software for the medical industry. The new clinical software addition called EM-CAT expands NBC’s existing coding automation toolset.
“The E&M side of CAT analyzes the patient encounter text, extracts the care levels and weights for every variable, then calculates what the Medicare reimbursement will be in real time,” explains NBC CEO Armen Geronian.
The E&M solution also provides a dashboard read-out of care levels to reveal potential gaps in documentation or upgrading for care procedures.
“Once we realized how often clinicians downplay their levels of care, we focused on designing a transparent, detailed government-compliant audit trail that matches reimbursement up 1:1 with each patient encounter record,” Mr. Geronian said.
The company’s solutions are available on its proprietary platform.
