Marietta, Ga.-based Wellstar Health System’s credit rating was upgraded to “A1” from “A2” by Moody’s.

The upgrade was driven by a continuation of the system’s strong operating performance, Moody’s said in its April 2 report. The system has operating cash flow margins of 9% to 11%, driven by volume growth.

The A1 rating reflects Wellstar’s established position as a large regional system in the greater Atlanta area, with favorable demographics and a diversified economic base, Moody’s said.

Wellstar has a stable outlook at its upgraded rating.
