Cincinnati-based Christ Hospital Health Network’s credit rating was upgraded to “A2” from “A3” by Moody’s.

The upgrade is driven by Christ Hospital’s expanding network and market presence in key service lines, Moody’s said in its Feb. 3 report. The health system’s low dependence on Medicaid funding also positions the system to weather upcoming federal cuts better than its peers.

Moody’s also noted that the system’s nursing college provides a strong workforce pipeline to manage workforce pressures.

Christ Hospital has a stable outlook at its new rating.
