Moody’s upgrades Baxter Regional Medical Center’s outlook to stable

Moody’s Investors Service has affirmed the “Baa2” rating assigned to Mountain Home, Ark.-based Baxter Regional Medical Center’s bonds and revised the hospital’s outlook to stable from negative.

The rating affirmation was supported by a number of factors, including Baxter’s strong market share. The hospital’s market share is more than 80 percent in its primary service area.

The hospital also faces some challenges, which were considered for the rating affirmation, including experiencing a consistent decline in patient volume.

The upgrade of Baxter’s financial outlook reflects the significant turnaround in financial performance the hospital experienced in fiscal year 2014.
