The rating affirmation is based on a number of factors, including SJMC’s role as the academic medical center for the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville.
The outlook is negative, reflecting Moody’s Investors Services’ expectation that SJMC will see increased financial pressures during 2017 and 2018.
