The rating affirmation reflects the health system’s growing regional presence and improved operating performance during the first 11 months of fiscal year 2014. Sanford is already a large system, with more than $3 billion in operating revenue from 37 hospitals, more than 1,200 employed physicians and more than 80,000 lives covered by various health insurance offerings, according to Moody’s.
Moody’s has also affirmed a stable outlook for the system, based on its geographic diversification, operating performance and successful implementation of its growth strategy.
