To manage RACs, Milwaukee-based Ministry Health Care created a multi-disciplinary team that included physicians, nurses, case managers, risk managers and IT specialists, among others. The system also appointed a system RAC medical director. Through this centralized approach, Ministry Health Care was able to meet various challenges RACs present.

Ministry Health Care now works with a smaller hospital system in which it has an ownership interest to coordinate its audit and appeals processes.
