The physician-owned hospital filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection after struggling financially for years. Doctors’ Hospital listed debts between $10 million and $50 million in its bankruptcy petition.
Two parties are vying for control of the facility: Sant Partners, which provided debtor-in-possession financing to the hospital in 2015; and Save The Hospital, which includes two physicians.
Sant Partners’ reorganization plan has received the most support, with creditors with claims totaling $7 million supporting the plan.
