Patients opting for a plan under Select Direct will not have copays, deductibles or lengthy explanations of their benefits. Instead, three types of memberships — a $40 preferred, $65 premium and $80 premium membership — will be offered, and rates will adjust according to the member’s age, The Plain Dealer reported.
Every membership type covers physician visits, screenings and immunizations, among other services.
MetroHealth CEO Akram Boutros, MD, told The Plain Dealer that Select Direct can act as a supplement or alternative to insurance purchased through the Affordable Care Act exchanges.
