Mercy Hospital Springfield was placed on immediate jeopardy status following an Aug. 25 investigation that found issues with patient rights and nursing services. The orginial deadline to determine the hospital’s Medicare status was Sept.22, but in late September CMS pushed back the deadline to Nov. 5.

The latest investigation found the hospital implemented an acceptable corrective action plan and its full contract is restored.
