The organizations announced plans in August to merge into a comprehensive, integrated healthcare delivery and financing organization. HealthPartners and Park Nicollet are both non-profit integrated healthcare systems. The agreement will unite the organizations under a combined, consumer-governed board of directors, creating a 1,500-physician multi-specialty group practice integrated with the HealthPartners health plan.
According to the report, the deal will create one of Minnesota’s largest non-profit healthcare companies.
