The AMA said the nation should not assume $300 billion in Medicare physician cuts, the release said. If Congress is not able to reach a deal, Medicare physician fees would be reduced by 29.5 percent starting on Jan. 1, 2012.
Additionally, the AMA said it will continue to work with Congress and President Obama’s administration to include a full repeal of the SGR.
