The new grants, part of the Medline Community Impact Grant Program for Community Health Centers, total $100,000.

The company said the money will be used to address social determinants of health affecting people and patients receiving care at these locations.

Medline notes that federally qualified health centers face funding shortages and overall funding uncertainty, and the grants seek to help fill those financial gaps.

“Medline has a long history of making philanthropic investments to address some of the most pressing health concerns in communities across the country, including the ones where our employees live and work,” Karen Frey, senior philanthropy manager at Medline, said in a news release. “We believe that by investing human and financial resources to address prevalent healthcare concerns and challenges, we can stimulate health equity and improve the well-being of communities across the country.”

The company will have two grant cycles this year and awarded grants will be capped at $10,000. Applications for the 2019 grant cycles are due May 31.
