Under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, CMS was able to prevent significant increases in costs or cuts in benefits for the upcoming year for Medicare beneficiaries. Overall, 2012 premiums are projected to be 11.5 percent lower than 2010 premiums, the release said.
